- What types of files can I submit for printing?
We accept PDF files created from Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, Quark Xpress, Corel Draw. High resolution images created in Adobe Photoshop (JPG, PSD, EPS),or data created in Adobe Illustrator (AI, EPS). Please review our data checklist before uploading data.
- Do you accept documents made with Microsoft Word or Excel?
I’m afraid not. MS-Office data is not print data.
- What is bleed?
All print data must have a 3mm area that extends beyond the cut line to allow for discrepancies during the final trimming process. This is known as the bleed. Please see a tutorial on bleed for more information.
- I don't know how to add bleed to my data - can you do it for me?
Sure. Let our technicians know and they will be happy to help you out.
- I cannot save in CMYK mode - can you convert it for me?
Yes, we can. Please understand though, that working in RGB and then converting to CMYK at the last minute however can result in some large colour shifts since the CMYK colour gamut is much smaller than RGB. For jobs where colour accuracy is crucial we suggest ordering a Sample Proof, to avoid last minute headaches.
- What is the difference between RGB and CMYK?
RGB refers to primary colours of light (Red, Green and Blue) that are used in monitors, tv screens and pretty much all electronics. CMYK refers to primary colours of pigment (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). These are the inks used in 4-colour process printing, commonly known as full-colour printing. When you add RGB values together the result is a white colour. However, when you add CMYK values together it creates black. Therefore, it is quite impossible for a printing press to reproduce exactly the colours as we see them on screen. Read our illustrated explanation, and more on how to prepare your print here.
